To Apply
Eligibility:
- Applicants must be at least 16 years of age at the time of application, and be a current high school junior.
- Applicants should have an academic average of B+ or better.
- Applicants should have a combined SAT score of at least 1800 (includes Critical Reading, Math, and Writing), a combined PSAT score of 180, or an ACT or PLAN composite score of at least 25.
- International applicants should have a computer-based TOEFL score of at
least 213 OR an Internet-based TOEFL score of at least 80.
- Personal information and letters of recommendation from teachers or counselors must be submitted.
- As an applicant, you should be dedicated and willing to meet the challenges of the program.
The cost of the five-week program, which was $5695 in 2008, covers:
- Tuition and lab fees (up to 7 units of college credit)
- Housing in a secure campus residence hall dedicated to the Program
- Meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner every day)
- Access to student health services*
- Use of all library facilities
- Use of the Athletic Complex facilities
- Most social activities
*Doctor visits, medication, medical tests, emergency-room care, and hospitalization are individual expenses.
Your textbooks and supplies, travel, and personal and incidental expenses are not covered by the program fee.
There is an additional non-refundable application fee if you apply after March 1st.
Financial AidPartial scholarship assistance is available to students who demonstrate financial need. In order to be considered for aid, you must include your Application for Financial Aid with the general program application materials. For 2009, we also require a copy of your parents' 2008 federal income tax return (1040 forms or equivalent). You may also wish to talk with your school counselor or others in your community (local church, service clubs and organizations, etc.) concerning additional sources of potential financial assistance.
The Admissions Process-
We use a rolling admissions process, notifying applicants of our decision within three weeks of receipt of your completed application. The first admission letters are mailed April 1.

A $500 deposit is then required if you accept our admission offer, with the remainder of the program fee and all additional paperwork due 3 weeks prior to the session. See Calendar for important application deadlines.

Should unforeseen circumstances require a student to withdraw from the program, we will issue partial refunds of the program fee (excluding the $500 deposit) as follows:
- Prior to start date: 100 percent refund of balance.
- First week of program: 75 percent refund of balance.
- After first week of program: No refund of program fee.
